Segmenta establishes itself in Vietnam

24 January 2008

Segmenta has opted to establish its own offshore capacity in Vietnam in order to set up part of the company’s future value chain in the region. Segmenta has therefore established a 50/50 joint venture with the CMC Corporation, which is Vietnam’s second largest IT company with 600 employees.

"Our strategic venture consists of building up a SAP company by, in part, hiring recent university graduates in IT, finance and/or the social sciences, and in part by hiring people with 2-5 years of experience in IT and to provide them with SAP training. For some of them, this training will be geared towards the technical or application side of SAP, while for others it will consist more of project management and method-based training", explains Lars Damgaard, CEO for Segmenta.

"It’s not a question of replacing existing employees with foreigners, rather it’s more about supplementing the Danish resources that we want to continue to employ so as to ensure Segmenta’s continued growth."

"At the same time we want to be able to offer our clients some financially sound projects, which is best achieved by the route we are taking", explains Lars Damgaard.

The CEO for the company located in Vietnam will be Rainer Neumann, who has been employed at Segmenta since 2004. Segmenta’s new Vietnamese office is located in Hanoi.
